Authorization in KC works based on the permissions users have for viewing, creating and modifying documents. It functions as a behind-the-scenes service that gets the user name, document name, and task the user was attempting and then asks “is this user authorized to perform this particular task for this document?.” The user is either authorized to continue with the permitted task, or a violation error message is displayed.
For more technical information about KC Authorization, see “https://test.kuali.org/confluence/display/KCDOC/Technical+Documentation” in the Kuali wiki. |
Most documents in KC include a Permissions Page with tabs for Assigned Roles and Users.
For example, for more information on assigned roles and users for Proposal Development documents, see “Permissions” on page 278 in Proposal Development. |
